Chris Brady
With a nod to past musical luminaries but with both feet stamping the present, Chris Brady is an honest and fearless songwriter whose gifted voice haunts and embraces all who hear it and whose music resonates long after the quiet has come. Chris Brady embodies the sound of honesty. His songs can tumble through frustration, loss and desire and still regain a sense of naivety and optimism. Formerly the singer-songwriter of punk-fuelled rock band Jilted, 24-year-old Chris has been an involved and devoted member of the Brisbane music scene for seven years, establishing a name touring and recording with some of the nations most promising acts including Halfday, James Grehan, Wheel and, currently, the roots-rock sensation Andrew Morris and the Dry Bones.

Cameron Elliott
The key to Cameron Elliott's originality lies in his somewhat unusual childhood. Having lived in England, America, Japan and Malaysia all before the age of 10, it is no surprise that the subject matter of Cameron's poetic lyrics is often observational and reflective. The constant pressure to adjust to his changing surroundings and the social nuances of these foreign countries forced him into the practice of constantly studying himself and others and maintaining an open mind. This regular upheaval could also explain the slightly schizophrenic nature of his music which shifts from song to song, always on an acoustic guitar but very rarely in a definable musical vein. He drifts through surreal, rollicking alt-country tales of shape shifters and fever dreams, folk ballads of voyages through Americas rugged west, and flamenco guitar-lined stories of ex-lover exorcisms.

Chris Pickering
Chris Pickering is an alt.country singer, songwriter and guitarist based in Brisbane, Australia. A Safer Place is his debut long player, and follows the Hard to Find EP (released in June 2005). With producer Jonathan Burnside (Sleepy Jackson, Treetops) at the helm, Hard to Find had a distinctly country flavour. A Safer Place sees Pickering develop his trademark country roots, marinating with lashings of savvy indie and folk-pop flavours. Embracing heartfelt themes and sweet melodies, Pickering and co-producer Emerson Bavinton (Gentle Ben and His Sensitive Side, Gorgeous) have crafted a refreshingly honest, innovative and beautiful debut - and what may be the perfect Sunday afternoon chill out record. Disarmingly sensitive and insightful, with frank and moving lyrics, A Safer Place meshes raw honesty with sophisticated yet uncomplicated melodies. The songs have an unnervingly personal impact - laid-back yet confrontational, introspective without moroseness, and elegantly succinct.

Tom Cooney
While it took Tom until his early 20s to start singing and writing songs, his musical inclinations were first piqued when he was 12. Falling to sleep at night, his neighbour would play classical guitar on his back deck and the sounds would filter through the trees and into Tom's room. A melodic influence which carries on through his current work.Tom is a regular fixture at popular Brisbane venues The Troubadour, The Zoo, Rics and the Powerhouse Spark Bar. In Brisbane there is a generation of profound acoustic singer-songwriters developing like a darkening storm cloud. Tom is a gem amongst them.

Jennifer Boyce
Eighteen year old Jennifer Boyce has, in her short term on the live circuit, already gone about making a steady name for herself as a performer and song-writer. Occasionally bassing and keying for other acts and side projects (disguised as a poodle rocker), Jennifer Boyce the solo artist appears as a sweet, minute young lady hammering and gliding her fingers repremandingly and gently across the keys of her stage piano, and tearing the sky to pieces with her surprisingly powerful and dry-melodic voice.Jennifer's delightfully quirky and sincere personality wafts through all of her songs, adding a unique and tasty zing to her jazzy numbers, and a slight tug-at-the-heart-strings of her more sombre tracks. Consistently, audiences in and around Brisbane, where this songstress is based, have all been struck by her delightful charm, dry-quipping wit, and heart-felt, high-impact performances which always manage to leave you with a dirty big smile on your face and a light feeling in your tummy.

Luke Foran
Im not going to write this in third person as though it is someone elses opinion of me and my music. When someone writes me a bio I will add it to this. Here is what I think of me.
Im not the best guitar player in the world... not even close. I admire great guitarists but will never be one. Im not the most perfect singer in the world- though i would like to be. I hit wrong notes and I forget words to my own songs sometimes. I write about me, or people around me and things that have actually happened. I cant make things up that contain no truth at all. It feels like lying. I made up a song once... then it actually happened. I wont do that again.
I have played at most of the venues in Brisbane, and done two brief tours of the South Island of New Zealand. Many of the musicians whom I admire the most are my friends, and I have had the privilege of performing with them, both on the same bill, and as part of their show. I also play in a band called Galleons Lap, with my favourite musicians and people in Brisbane.
I have no expectation of ever "making it" as a musician. Life is too cruel and the music industry is too fickle.

Tyrone Noonan
As co-singer and instrumentalist for multi-platinum selling Australian jazz/rock/pop combo george, Tyrone stood squarely at the apex of the music industry. He's released a ..1 debut album, won an ARIA award, and performed sell-out tours of Australia, the UK, Scotland, Ireland and Japan. If a broad range of experience is a necessity for any singer/songwriter to draw on, then Tyrone Noonan kick-starts his solo career in an enviable position. Tyrone Noonan knows what it feels like to play in front of 1.8 billion people (the Opening Ceremony of the Rugby World Cup), and to support world-class artists as diverse as Macy Gray, Jewel and Tori Amos.
An evocative combination of pop, rock, groove and soul influences, Tyrones solo work proves both radio-friendly and deeply personal.
On his debut single Back (Where I Started From), Noonan gives an emotionally raw subject the alchemists treatment - he takes lifes harsh lessons and wrings a melody out of them.

Dan Parsons
Dan Parsons is a 19 year old Brisbane Singer-Songwriter who started teaching himself guitar in mid 2003 after hearing Paul Simon 'Graceland'- and was immediately confined to his room mastering the peice of wood that was making his fingers bleed. Needless to say before too long he was writing songs and gradually getting better at it. Early influences were Paul Simon, The Traveling Wilburys, Simon and Garfunkel and general folkiness. Fast forward to early 2004; started work on demo with Tommy Glaum who is an excellent musician not to mention great engineer/sound capturer which of whom many brisbane bands have worked with on various projects. On this demo Tom and Dan played all the instruments between them. After the production of the demo; Dan played many solo shows around brisbane, while writing more songs.
Come Christmas 2004, played Woodford Folk Festival in the emerging artists program with a great back up band of the rhythmically gifted Jono Kirkham on drums and Tommy Glaum on bass/electric guitar- it was a great time for all involved. 2005 proved to have a less exciting start to it than the latter; much working was taking place. Dan and the band decided to re-cut some existing and new tracks for the demo. So not a lot really happened 'gig' wise until July/August when he started doing some more regular gigs at places like The Alley, Performers Cafe, Lions Den Cafe and the Tongue and Groove Bar. Also, new to the line up is Dave Joyce (from Little Red Light) helping out on bass duties, he is a great player all round with a lot of funk and groove; So that brings us to now, where hopefully some more regular live shows will be taking place, so keep an eye out!

Daniel Bayfield
From a very early age, it was clear to me the one thing I was going to be when I grew older was a singer/songwriter. At the age of 6, the vision of my future self was a hybrid combination of my influences at the time; John Farnham's voice, Michael Jackson's moves and John Travolta's hair... Sadly, such physical attibutes never came to be.
By the age of 14, I started my first ever band, 'Push Trolley'. At 16, Denis (also of A Thousand Apologies) and I started our first originals band 'Paver' on the Sunshine Coast. The move to Brisbane in 2002 brought with it new band members, new songs and a new sound. 'A Thousand Apologies' is the combination of 3 of my best friends, Denis, Ruwan and Andee and we've been playng in the Brisbane music scene for over 4 years now. Our EP is due for release in 2006 and you can look us up in Myspace world if you like... At the end of 2005, I recorded a 6 track solo acoustic EP called 'Then Jelly Happens...' It was entirely recorded in my bedroom, usually at some ridiculous hour of the night. I wanted to lay down some acoustic tracks that we didn't really play in the band at the time. And so, at the age of 21, began my solo acoustic side project... I hope you enjoy listening...
